Help connect Bronx communities with fresh food, urban agriculture, and hands-on learning.
Are you passionate about food justice and community power? Do you want work that actually feeds people – literally?
Mi Oh My Hydroponic Farms is a worker-owned hydroponic farm and educational organization rooted in the Bronx. We grow nutrient-dense food, build cooperative wealth, and connect BIPOC communities to the new economy – one harvest at a time. Now we’re looking for a Program Coordinator to lead our “Meet the Farmer” initiative into its next chapter.
The Role
Mi Oh My Hydroponic Farms is seeking an energetic, community-minded Program Coordinator to help grow our Meet the Farmer Initiative across the Bronx and greater NYC. Mi Oh My is a worker-owned hydroponic farm and educational organization focused on improving food access while advancing cooperative economics, community empowerment, and opportunities to build generational wealth.
As Program Coordinator, you serve as the heartbeat of our “Meet the Farmer” program – a flagship community engagement initiative that brings Bronx and NYC residents face-to-face with fresh food, hands-on hydroponics education, and real pathways to food sovereignty. You organize events, build partnerships, and keep operations running smoothly across all our community locations.
What You’ll Do
In this hands-on role, you’ll help bring Meet the Farmer to life by:
- Coordinating community events and workshops at partner locations
- Building relationships with nonprofits, restaurants, cafés, and other community partners
- Engaging residents around fresh food, hydroponics, microgreens, and mushroom cultivation
- Managing participant registrations and program information using HubSpot
- Coordinating event logistics, materials, scheduling, setup, and breakdown
- Tracking attendance, sign-ups, feedback, and program outcomes
- Supporting day-to-day administrative and operational needs
The role combines community outreach, event coordination, relationship building, and operations to expand access to fresh food and urban agriculture education.
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are organized, dependable, comfortable working with diverse communities, and passionate about food justice and community empowerment. Previous experience in community outreach, events, or a related area is preferred. Familiarity with urban agriculture is helpful, but a strong willingness to learn is just as important. Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Position Details: Part-time, per diem W-2 position of up to 25 hours per week, with a mix of on-site and remote work. Weekend flexibility is required. Compensation is $20–$25/hour depending on experience, with the potential opportunity to become a worker-owner after one year of employment.
Interested in using your skills to strengthen food access and community connections in NYC? We’d love to hear from you.
