Please consider helping lead efforts to promote, advocate, and defend cooperatives in the U.S. and around the world by running for U.S. Co-ops’s Board of Directors. The board will have five open seats this election cycle. Members of U.S. Co-ops who are interested in running to become a director should complete and submit this Nomination Form with requested supplemental material to the Nominating Committee no later than February 15, 2022. An U.S. Co-ops board-appointed Nominating Committee, composed of members of the U.S. Co-ops Board of Directors, will review all nominations to verify each candidate’s eligibility per the organization’s bylaws. To be eligible for election, a candidate must be either a director or an employee of a cooperative member, cooperative association member, associate member or an individual member of U.S. Co-ops in good standing.
By March 4, the Nominating Committee will present to the U.S. Co-ops membership a slate of candidates. The slated candidates’ biographical sketches, candidate statements and photographs will be published on U.S. Co-ops’s website and in Co-op Weekly. The information will also be posted in the online election system administered by Simply Voting.
As you consider running for the board, note that U.S. Co-ops emphasizes the importance of diversity in the board’s composition as well as the priority of diversity, equity and inclusion in the work of the association. Please include your experience and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in your materials.

Election results will be announced at U.S. Co-ops’s Annual Membership Meeting & Virtual Town Hall, scheduled for May 3, 2022 in Washington, D.C.
