Nominees interested in running to fill five seats on the 2018 U.S. Co-ops Board of Directors, which guides and inspires the organization, now have until Friday, March 9 to complete and submit this Nomination Form with requested supplemental material to the Nominating Committee.

An U.S. Co-ops Board-appointed Nominating Committee, composed of members of the U.S. Co-ops Board of Directors, will review all nominations to verify the candidates’ eligibility per the organization’s bylaws.
To be eligible for election, a candidate must be either an Individual member of U.S. Co-ops or a director or an employee of a Cooperative or Associate Member in good standing. Nominees will be notified in advance of the status of their candidacy.
Per the U.S. Co-ops bylaws, the Nominating Committee shall nominate at least two candidates more than the number of open positions.
By March 19, the Nominating Committee will present to the U.S. Co-ops membership a slate of no fewer than seven candidates for consideration. The slated candidates’ biographical sketches, candidate statements and photographs will be published on the U.S. Co-ops website and in Co-op Weekly.The information will also be posted in the online election system administered by Simply Voting.
The online election will open on March 26 and close on April 26; during this period, U.S. Co-ops members in good standing will be able to cast their votes.
The U.S. Co-ops Board election is handled electronically through Simply Voting, a secure, cost-effective and environmentally responsible online platform for election services.
The election results will be announced at U.S. Co-ops’s Annual Business Meeting & Virtual Town Hall, which will be held on May 1, 2018 in Washington, D.C., during Co-op Week.
